[CHAT] We like to party
Moderator @FItzChivalry writes:
Partying is a word that gets most people excited at the first thought of it. The idea of partying is pretty awesome. Get a bunch of mates, music, a few drinks and dance the night away. I’ve spent many years doing just that, and I’ve had some awesome nights because of it, made a lot of friends and a lot of memories. But partying does have its dark side.
I remember my first real house party, when we were all about 16 years old. I was the only one who really had an older brother, and he was “cool” enough to buy alcohol for the night. My best friend’s mum had even gone away for the weekend so we had a free house. The invites went out, and the party was gonna be awesome. It was like a scene out of one of those American college movies where they are running around the school throwing flyers at people. A few hours into the party it was clear that this definitely was going to be the best party ever. However things very quickly soured.
Unbeknownst to the organizers, one girl had brought herself a bottle of pretty hard liquor and decided it would be a great idea to polish it off herself. Next thing you know she’s in hospital, mums were called, tears were shed and it was definitely not the party to end all parties. That was our first taste of how quickly things could head south (the girl was fine in the end, but it was still a bit shock for us all).
So - partying can be awesome, and the majority of the time it is, but young people, alcohol and maybe even drugs is the perfect combination for problems. It happens from time to time. So how do we still have a good time without being too irresponsible about it?

So what are the best parts of partying or going out for you guys?
Meeting new people would be my favourite part of partying i've met so many friends through mutual friends at parties and events. Waking up the next day to a few friend requests on facebook from randoms can be a bit weird, but i've stayed in contact with a few of them which is pretty wicked. Partying for me is definitely a good way to meet people who love to have fun
oh, and the dancing of course... have i mentioned i liked dancing?
I remember on new years eve my partners brother had fireworks and all of us, drunk at midnight were trying to set them off in the nearby park, dont know how we didnt blow our faces and hands off. Fun
Thanks @FItzChivalry
What are the best parts of partying or going out for you guys?
I love seeing my friends having fun
taking photos
dressing up in nice make up and shoes and clothes
dancing
yummy drinks
music
bumping into people you werent expecting to see
What are the best parts of partying or going out for you guys?
Hanging with old friends, making new friends, listening to cool music and having some ridiculous stories to tell are what makes the hangovers all worthwhile for me!
What are the best parts of partying or going out for you guys?
Definitely just getting to see my friends and being a little bit goofy. I really like hearing music that I enjoy with a bunch of people as well, some of the places I go to play really good sing-a-long songs and it's so cool to have a whole room singing along to one song, singing lyrics at random people and stuff. Plus like @jvkn , I love dancing! Although, I'm more like a sprinkler / shopping trolley kind of dancer 😛
I love dressing up nice too @EloiseRose!
And wearing shoes that I never get to wear
Best part of going out
It shouldnt be this.....but time after time the predrinks is the funnest part 😛
I think its the anticipation mixed with getting entirely loose with your closest bunch of friends 🙂
Finished exams today, so pretty pumped for the EOX parties!
@Troy I've gotta agree with you there, most of the time the pre-drinks is usually better than the actual night out. Cheaper booze, easier to chat with your mates, your own choice of music... pretty hard to top really
oh my goodness i have a confession sometimes i only ever went to pre drinks because it IS the funnest part.
And i love sleep so it was a perfect combo of fun friends and a few drinks
@florenceforever "Wearing shoes that I never get to wear" SO TRUE! Haha. I basically have a section of my wardrobe dedicated to "going out shoes" and they get worn very rarely 😞
@jvkn I am in the same boat as you mate! After a few drinks though I don't give a damn, I'm more than happy to make a fool of myself on the dancefloor haha as long as everyone's having fun 🙂
Hi all!!
What do you guys consider ‘’partying’? What does your typical night out look like?
My idea of partying is pretty diverse. I love dancing, so if I do go out dancing and the music is great it's practically impossible to pull me off the dancefloor!! But I still appreciate just meeting up with a few friends for drinks and having a chat. For me, partying is mostly about unwinding and temporarily forgetting my responsibilities.
So what are the best parts of partying or going out for you guys?
I do love getting on the dance floor. I've really found my love for dancing like a fool recently - I used to always retreat to the couches because I was too scared of what people would think of me...
I love long and beautiful discussions in bathrooms, making new friends, eating greasy food and not having a care in the world about it!
Never shy away from the d floor
If you convey fun and confidence skill and moves do not matter we aren't all beyonce
Hello everybody
What do you guys consider ‘’partying’? What does your typical night out look like?
I'm not really sure how to describe this, usually having some friends over for a few drinks then hit the town a bit later on. I only have that few friends I go out with, they are the only ones I trust to rescue me when I'm drunk.
But in saying that I do like just having a few friends over, few drinks, game of cards, watch the footy, walk to maccas, you know just chilled out.
@j95 Nothing quite like a late night maccas run! Don't usually feel too good about it in the morning though haha
