Hey guys!

I just joined and I don’t really know what to do here yet, but I thought I’d introduce myself and say why I joined. I’m potatoes_are_good and I joined this forum because I’ve been feeling consistently sad lately and I feel like I can’t talk to anyone about it. But I would love to talk to you guys who are going through the same thing or people who are just supportive 😊

So I’d love to hear from you guys and know your experiences and why you joined here, and has this forum helped you?

I joined this forum because of all the mental health issues I've seen my friends go through during the last few years, which made me more passionate about making a difference in terms of mental health in the community. This forum has really helped me gain a wider awareness of the kinds of issues people are going through and increased my understanding of these issues.

I joined this forum because I wanted to help young people navigate life's challenges.

What I love about this forum is how resilient you all are even though you might not think it. It is inspiring to say the least. 

This forum has helped me a lot when I needed help, particularly when face-to-face help wasn't available

Hey @Potatoes_are_good , welcome to the forums. I'm sorry you've been feeling sad and you feel like you have no one to talk to. I definitely relate. Yes I have my parents but I mean people my age or whatever, or close to my age.

I joined a while back, last year sometime I think, I honestly can't remember. I joined because like you, I wanted to try and make online (anonymous) friendships and get support, advice, etc. for myself and try to be there for other people, read what helps them, & so on.

heyo and welcome! i've only been on this forum for a few months and i joined because i was looking to help some people from my own experiences. can definitely relate to feeling the blues for an extended period of time and even to this day it catches me off guard sometimes. but we're all here together

Thanks for sharing, yes I definitely feel this place has helped and that I feel comfortable on this forum, purely because I find face-to-face help is sometimes overwhelming and not always available.

Nice to meet you and it’s comforting to here that other people feel the same way as me. I don’t know about you, but do you feel like sometimes it is overwhelming or sometimes maybe embarrassing to talk to close one (parents, close friends etc.) about this sort of stuff.

Yes I do feel that way, my parents are supportive and know everything about me but it does feel awkward and difficult. I have no friends anyway. I have no family except my parents as my Grandparents passed away years ago. My other "family" don't bother with me no matter how hard I try.
