To me, finding balance means less stress!

I've spent Saturday writing notes all afternoon, yesterday working and today I felt so overwhelmed that I had to go out - but when  I go out to have 'fun', I can't stop worrying or thinking about what I still need to do (in this case, I have four exams over the next three days) 😕

No, I didn't almost just forget again... maybe. But I got on my computer so I can type, I also put on my glasses and things kind of fuzz out so I might give up and just go blind... ah well but I made it! :D:D

What does balance mean to you?
Honestly? It doesn't really have a meaning for me. I suppose it's just making sure you aren't too focused on one or two things, you level out your focus to different things that are equal enough for you. For example, for positivity and negativity to be balanced, they don't have to be equal, you would want there to be a positive for each negative but that doesn't mean there aren't more positives that haven't come from any negatives... Like I'm happy, I'm grateful, I'm sad-->because I'm sick. So that's three positives and one negative. One positive for the negative and then... yeah.

Hey @N1ghtW1ng glad to have you @ tonight's GR sesh!

you bring up a cool point, it just goes to show how subjective finding balance is--it can different for everyone, some people may cope with a lot of things on their plate, and others are content with minimal schedules.

Haha thats okay @n1ghtw1ing the important thing is that you made it!! 🙂

Thats okay that it doesn't have a specific meaning to you, i guess in a way, like you said it just means levelling out things like positivity and negativity.

And you are so true, balancing is also like equalling things out in a sense... like being grateful but having the flu at the same time haha

Binging oh my gosh I'm am so guilty of that. I am literally binging a toddler show right now. 😛
@bessie94 yeah, I'm glad I made it too. But my computer wasn't loading before so... I might call it quits about halfway through, I dunno.
@jvkn yeah.

What does balance mean to you?

I think balance (work/life) would be the order between work or a career  and lifestyle (health or pleasure)

It's making a balance or making sure things in your life weigh up or sit right, making sure you are having emotional, mental and physical balance

Hey @dreamer 95 welcome to the chat!!

Yeah that is true too! It is interesting to put it like that! Balancing between work and lifestyle can be hard, but you are right... mental and physical balance is also very important!

What does balance mean to you?

Balance to me is a lot about "fun things" "work things" and "necessary things".

At the moment its a lot of work things and not much fun things or necessary things (like exercise!)

hey there @lanejane !

What does balance mean to me?

Balance to me means being able to juggle friends, family, your work/education and having fun, but keeping it all running smoothly so you dont burn out.

Okay next question!

Finding balance means looking after you. Whats something you do to treat yourself to calm down/unwind during a stressful week?

I like to read a good book, have a glass of wine on a friday night or watch lots and lots of netflix! I also like to take self care by meditating 🙂

I like snuggling into a comfy couch/chair/bed with a book and a glass of wine if it's (Fri/Sat or Sun only lol), a bubble bath (not now it's winter here tho..), and def go out for a walk on the paths here. Past few months I have had the opportunity to get all these things down pat & slip into a really good balance groove!

So even if stressful things happen like they have say a couple of times in the past few days - I ride them totally over like a chill wave!! Was even dancing to an old eurovision song doing the dishies this morn - despite some totally crappy family news! 😄 😄 😄

@Mermaidgirl6

It's awesome that you have such positive ways of dealing with crap times. Dancing to Eurovision songs! that is too awesome! 🙂

I like to play footy since it helps me forget everything and become a totally different person.  I also enjoy drumming because both of these activities take a lot of focus and all my energy goes into them.

This is also why I find it hard to unwind because I can't really do those things much when people are home which is most of the time.  Weirdly enough I kinda enjoy School because you get to hang around people your age and socialise which is a great break from classes.

Sorry I'm late btw.  Had a late dinner.

@FootyFan26 so awesome that you enjoy school! I enjoyed some aspects of school too.  People have different experiences in school, but I definitely didn't find it to be all bad!

Thanks @jvkn good when great songs stick in your head! Makes me feel happy dancing and singing about the place. 🙂
