Chit Chat
Sometimes I just feel like talking to somebody, just having a chat about stuff, not even bad stuff, just things. Thats why I'm making this thread because that is sort of what I'm feeling tonight. We can talk about heaps of good things on here, try to keep it positive.
[Ms] We have three papillons. They have sticky-up ears and here's a picture I found of one on the internet.
@SomeoneNADJS you have a doggy, right?
Can you tell me what he looks like?
@Tiny_leaf Yeah, it's definitely a bad time. I think I must have either picked it up from the nursing home I volunteer at, or a visitor has brought it into the house. No one else in my family is sick but who knows.
I'm going to see how I go over the next few days and see if it develops.
I wish I had a nice rock I could lie on! 🙂
I don't understand what's bothering her about the recliner. She used to sit on it before she got FND. It's weird because she can sit on different commode chairs for long periods. I wonder if it's the anticipation of pain or a bad memory from when the second hospital she went to got her to sit in a recliner, and she couldn't get out of it and accidentally tipped it over. I think she also finds it hard to do things with the OTs and physios that she can do at other times. For example, she can sit on the edge of the bed and stand and pivot a bit with us but not when other people are watching. The neurophysio told us that she has seen this kind of thing before in other patients with FND.
I'll look into the other recliners. 🙂 Another idea we had was putting a bedsheet over the recliner because she's used to being in bed, but she still didn't seem to like it.
@WheresMySquishy I love that you can add a laughing fave after that - I'd be furious.
Now's a bad time to get a cough hey...
Are you going to get it tested just in case?
I can't relate to the rock thing, I went for a year or so having some very relaxing naps on a very nice rock.
Actually it might be less about the hardness of the chair itself and more of the annoying "frame" bits that you can feel in soft of old chairs. I hate those, there very painful.
Perhaps a woven outdoor type recliner with a cheap matress on top would be easier. That would distribute her weight more evenly, with no lumpy bits.
And thank you, I hope so too...
Things are going okay for me at the moment @Tiny_leaf. Thanks for asking. 🙂
I realised the other day that the compounding pharmacy shipped me the wrong prescription strength for my eye drops, and I'd been using them for over a month! Luckily, it was a lower concentration that was sent to me and not the other way around. I have been trying the higher dose for a few days but it kind of feels like shards cutting into my eyes. I can't open my eyes for a while after having them. I think they take a tablet and crush it into the eye drops. They worked for my dad before, but this time it started irritating him and he gave up using them.
I think I may also be getting a cold because I have coughing and phlegm, but it doesn't seem that bad.
My sister gets appointments at our house every weekday except Wednesdays now, which are done by external people we found ourselves since the hospital is reluctant to come out or do outpatient appointments due to the virus. So we often have to wake up early or get interrupted sleep. We've been trying to hoist her into a recliner but she just hovers over it and screams nonstop. She says it feels like a rock. 😞 The neurophysio I found is pretty good though. There is going to be a meeting with most of the hospital team and external people we have next week to make sure they are all on the same page.
I read your thread and hope you can feel better soon and that your health improves.

school atm would be quite tricky for both teachers and students. I know here in nsw the kids will be starting to go back just one day a week so maybe your state will start doing that so you can get some help with the things your stuck on.
you should be able to contact your teacher now though if your stuck on something? I know my primary school age sister can and so can the high schooler sister through their online portal thingys.
I’m going okay, just a bit tired and overwhelmed. School has been a bit tricky, particularly because I don’t have someone who can do the teaching for me, while I learn. Instead I have to be my own teacher, AND student.😑
Otherwise, I’m okay! Just enjoying being at home. I dyed my hair too!
Oh im sorry to hear about a sick toddler though @Saltwaterdreamtime its hard when those we love are sick. Hope they are feeling better now
@scared01 Yeah and sick toddler this week but glad he is out now
