ReachOut are looking for feedback from our forum community!
Hey there!
I’m Kat from the Research team here at ReachOut HQ.
ReachOut is all about being a close online community designed to support you – and we want to get even better at it, so we want to hear from you through our online survey.
We’re looking for all different kinds of people to participate in our survey - people who haven’t registered for an account with ReachOut, or haven’t ever posted on the forum, as well as more regular users, community builders and moderators.
The survey will give you the chance to share your views on the ReachOut forums, talk about what’s working well or not so well, and share any ideas for the future.
The general situation with coronavirus is affecting everyone in the community, so it’s more important than ever that ReachOut understands how we can best meet the needs of our community. And that's what this survey is all about. But your health and wellbeing is number one! If you’re feeling too down or worried, or want to focus your energy on supporting others, that’s totally fine too.
As a thank you for participating, you’ll also have the chance to win 1 of 10 $100 vouchers. It’s not a random draw – the best answers to the bonus question will win!
The survey is completely anonymous and will take you around 15 minutes to complete, depending on your answers, and you can participate by clicking on the link below. If you have an account and/or have made a post before, you will have received an email invitation to participate – you can follow the link in that email if you’re interested in being part of the study!
The study is being conducted by the independent research firm Newgate Research. Your responses are completely anonymous and will not be linked to you in any way – they won’t even see your username. Newgate Research’s privacy policy can be viewed here. http://www.newgatecomms.com.au/research/newgate-research-privacy-policy/
Thanks so much for everything you bring to make the ReachOut community what it is. We’re hoping this survey will help us continue to improve the forums in the future.
We look forward to your feedback!
The ReachOut research and community teams.

Hi Community!
@Kat-RO has just posted a new research opportunity over here!
I am just going to tag those who high fived some of our research opportunities in the last two months in case you are interested in this one too 🙂
@Kokacola @MB95 @Anonymous @xXLexi_Lou122Xx @Bee @SomeoneNADJS @Tiny_leaf @WheresMySquishy @Tay100
Thanks a million @Kokacola and @MB95 🙂
We will definitely flag any future research opportunities!
I hear your point too @xXLexi_Lou122Xx and will have a think about how we can capture the voices and ideas of young people under 16 through informal feedback channels on the forums For example the surveys we have done in past to understand experiences with Getting Real Discussions and topics for 2020 that anyone could add to 🙂
Formal research is much harder as we have to go through ethics committees like Kat mentioned, which is conditions set outside of ReachOut by those who look to protect anyone participating in research, and we have to abide by really closely. This is something that is in place across the entire global research community
People have to be 16 or older, and I'm only just turning 15 this year.
Maybe next time, when there actually IS research for people that have been on the forums for a certain amount of time...

Hey @xXLexi_Lou122Xx, I'm so sorry you're not able to participate in this research 😞 Unfortunately the ethics committee that approved the study only agreed to young people aged 16 or older being able to participate. For younger people, committees often want parents to give permission for their young person to be in the study, which we didn't think was feasible for this research. But we definitely value your opinions, and there will be other opportunities for you to have your say, don't worry!
That's some feedback right there. 😛
Honestly, there should some research for forum users who have been on the forum for a certain amount of time, despite their age. Of course, with permission from parents if required, but generally its freewill.
Thats my opinion. 🙂
