It's not good. There's really late tutorials, one day with literally only one tut and a lot of crossovers I'm trying to fix but it's just... I hope that it changes by the time it officially comes out (unless that was official) *cries forever* This is shaping up to be a shit semester. I hope the classes are good.

I'm moving back to Melbourne in January to find a place to live and reacquaint myself with VicUni. I only spent one year there so far (last year), but I love the place. Plus all the staff are top-quality / genuinely inspiring. I'm looking forward to going back.

Uni's back in session for me so I'm definitely going to be using the ideas in this thread Smiley LOL

@Birdeye Yeah I'm really lucky in that sense 🙂

@missep This thread is always full of awesome suggestions 😄 All the best with getting back into study! If you need somewhere to vent about those #unilyf struggles then feel free to pop in here 😛

@Birdeye I can think of 2 subjects where I felt a bit like that (although still relieved they were over 😛 ). The good thing though is that you can still use the skills/info you learned in that unit in the future, so even though the class is ending, the experience it brought for you doesnt have to.

@Bay52VU Very true. I think that's part of why I feel like that with this particular unit, because it really excited me to continue on with it.

@lokifish That's so cool that people in your course are close and open enough to be helping each other like that. I'm totally jealous of your and @Nessa17 's friendly cohorts. 🙂

Is anyone else finding these last few weeks stressful? I have so much due and so little motivation its like the more i know i need to study the less motivated i am to actually do it. Only 2 and a half weeks of uni left i just want to finish the year well but at the moment that isnt feeling possible

@Ally-Leesh-Jane a bit. I have an essay due tomorrow that I'm trying to start. But I've decided to do another assignment instead.
What are some things you usually do to help you study? I can't offer much help since I've never been much of a studier, I usually wait until I MUST do it or else I have a large chance of failure.

@DruidChild It's more actually knowing what's ethical. The assignment is about the internet, so I have to do ethics on the internet and I feel quite dumb for not knowing what ethics are. I suppose bullying and privacy, it's a hard topic 😛

@N1ghtW1ng You don't need to feel dumb, that does sound hard. Bullying and privacy would definitely be good ethical issues to focus on for the Internet - is your textbook/lecture material any help? Usually in the things I do, they don't really care if you know what's ethical, mostly they care if you can analyse why different people think something is or isn't ethical. Good luck with the assignment!

@DruidChild if it isn't assessed, then try talking to a uni counsellor and through them talk to your tutor and find a way around it. Hopefully it all works out! I would be terrible with that topic too.

@Birdeye good luck on your assignment!

@Super_Me I hope things get sorted out soon. It's not right that they can't give you glasses that you need just because you don't have enough money. It's great that you're able to get extensions, is there anyone who can help you with your assignments?

So I have a group assignment next week. Fingers crossed I can get my shit together and do what I'm supposed to. Ethics. I don't even understand ethics! I mean, I know ethics, good vs bad or whatever but I can't explain ethics, I can't say what's ethical and what's not.

@N1ghtW1ng Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give talking to the counsellor a go. Thanks 🙂

Good luck with your group assignment! Is there anything in particular that's confusing about the ethics stuff? Can I help at all? (I have an entire unit on ethics this semester so I know a fair amount!)

@N1ghtW1ng what a great opportunity to get a head start on some of those assignments Smiley Happy

@Bay52VU did the quiz earlier this morning - ended up taking all of 5 minutes haha. Very happy considering some of the others have had ridiculous questions on them 😛

I'm having a pretty rough time with this assignment. Me and my best friend tried to work on it together but we got nowhere! It's a really annoying assignment. I have some strategies to turn to though to hopefully get some answers on my issues with it. Here's hoping said strategies come through for me!

Cannot wait for holidays in less than two weeks time!

Thank you all 🙂

@Super_Me that sucks about the assignment. Can you chat to your tutor/lecturer to get some clarification?

khaleesi_18Posted 12-08-2016 04:33 PM

@lokifish that's lucky it's on the same train line! Even though it's a fair bit further, you could use the commute time as an opportunity to get some readings/assignments done Smiley Happy I used to catch the bus for 45 mins to uni and couldn't work on the bus because I would get motion sickness, but trains don't seem to have the same effect.

@khaleesi_18 I find that I can't really study on any form of transport. Usually I'll just listen to music and read/play on my phone 🙂

khaleesi_18Posted 11-08-2016 11:03 AM

@N1ghtW1ng that's so great to hear that you joined a group! Making friends at uni can take time, but weekly meetings sound like an awesome way to gradually feel more comfortable around everyone.

@lokifish sorry to hear about the campus change - is it much further to get to? Switching to part time is totally okay - uni is super flexible like that, and so many people find that that works best for them Smiley Happy

@khaleesi_18 yeah it's going to take a fair bit longer to get to. At least it's still on the same train line as my current/future house so I can just take the train to uni

@DruidChild I've already met them once, and I think it'll be good! Thanks 🙂

@lokifish You can always go back to full time if you want to. I hope that this helps you cope. 🙂

Welcome back!
