GR: TV and MOVIES!!!! - 29th April :)
THIS IS GONNA BE A FUN ONE GUYS!!!
It's just over 48 hours until we start our fun Getting Real session about all of our favourite TV shows and movies!
It's just a super chill chance to have a chat about the shows we love...
(^ I see no problems there 😉 )
The characters and heroes we admire...
and the movies that we've watched literally dozens of times and can't wait to convince everyone else to see
What's really epic about this one is that it gives everyone the chance to get to know a bit about everyone else 😄 It's amazing what you can learn about people from the things they love That's pretty rad imo!
(P.S. if anyone wants to chat about things they're interested in, they should head on over to the Hanging Out section of the forums if they're too excited to wait until Monday ;), but i digress )
If this sounds like a blast to you too, you're more than welcome (encouraged truly 😛 ) to join us on Monday the 29th of April at 7:30 pm AEDT to have a chat!
Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter! I love how she still stays true to herself despite what everyone thinks of her 🙂
Good night @xXLexi_Lou122Xx xXLexi_Lou122Xx !! See you again soon! 🙂
Next question for the night:
Who is your favourite TV show/movie character? / Is there a character you really identify with?
My favourite character would probably have to be Klauss Mikaelson from The Originals! As odd as it may sound him being pretty evil and murdurous hahaha I really felt I identified with him when watching the show (not the murderous part). I loved his character development and how there were so many layers to him as he was the hardest to crack. So many deep feels and meanings to him and the show hahaha I love it! 😄
@Puppies026 I really agree with this "I loved his character development and how there were so many layers to him as he was the hardest to crack". It's the most complicated characters that have the best character development- makes them very human
tbh on my block always cheers me up, dont know why, but it makes me feel comfortable.
For TV shows, definitely Queer Eye or Brooklyn Nine-Nine. As for movies, any cheesy rom-coms or teen movies (like 13 Going on 30, 10 Things I Hate About You, Mean Girls, etc.)
Next question!
What TV shows/movies always do a great job of cheering you up or giving you that motivational boost?
What TV shows/movies always do a great job of cheering you up or giving you that motivational boost?
Shows or movies that are musicals or have a lot of music in them come to mind.
What TV shows/movies always do a great job of cheering you up or giving you that motivational boost?
I think if I want to laugh then Jane the Virgin has to be the show that never fails in doing that, even if I'm in a bad mood or feeling down, it always works 😄
I think Coach Carter and The Blind Side really are movies that inspire and motivate me so much with so many aspects of my life, every single time I re-watch it!
@Puppies026 On the blind side is such a beautiful movie.
I love spirit. The movie about the horse. It will always be one of my favourite movies.
What TV shows/movies always do a great job of cheering you up or giving you that motivational boost?
Anything with a good portrayal of queer/ LGBT characters, or just good representation in general. RuPaul's Drag Race always makes me laugh and feel better + happy to be part of the LGBT community. Other than that -- like I said, children's shows/ movies! Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse is also amazing.
@Puppies026 I love layered characters like that!
Who is your favourite TV show/movie character? / Is there a character you really identify with?
First question: Scar from the Lion King, hahah. I don't know, I just love every character that's well rounded and layered and morally grey. Who comes to mind in terms of favourites... Helena and Cosima from Orphan Black, everyone from OitNB hahah (Red + Poussey at the top), Will + Jonathan from Stranger Things...
Second: Like I said, I really identify with Elsa's struggles in Frozen and feel her journey can be applied as an analogy of overcoming depression/ anxiety. Can't really think of anyone else at the moment but I'll let you know if I think of anyone!
Who is your favourite TV show/movie character? / Is there a character you really identify with?
The characters from TV shows my sister and I started watching in our childhood such as Adventure Time and Ninjago come to mind because we grew up with them and they grew up with us over the course of the show too.
@WheresMySquishy I haven't watched much Adventure Time but I swear I've binged every Youtube video showing Princess Bubblegum/ Marceline moments. :')
Who is your favourite TV show/movie character? / Is there a character you really identify with?
In Grey's anatomy, I had 2 fav characters. I really loved Lexi Grey's compassion and empathy- she was always so considerate and kind, which are great qualities in a helping profession. I also really identified with Christina Yang- she was resilient and strong, but also had a lot of complexity and depth to her character. I loved seeing Christina's character grow and mature into a really understanding but assertive doctor
Both show that adversity brings strength
I’ve watched all the iron man movies at least 40 times 😁😄 I even brought a iron man hat, iron man is literally my favourite superhero outta the avengers
