Can't believe I just found this thread! I love animal crossing sooo much! It makes me relax after the whole day's studies. Anyways, Halloween activity is coming and I think my island is prepared for Halloween 
Who else is excited for Turkey Day on Thursday?
I always seemed to miss the event in other Animal Crossing games. I mostly remember the Gamecube version of it.
@WheresMySquishy sooo I loved animal crossing on the Wii but I don't have a Nintendo Switch 
im debating whether I should buy the game to play at my boyfriends house on his ahahah do you recommend it?
@JullyBean Sorry for the late reply! I've played all the Animal Crossing games and would recommend New Horizons! Strangely, I didn't spend as much time on the Wii version as I did on other games in the series. I remember our native fruit being cherries but I remember hardly anything else.
@lokifish I've been trying to get the young spring bamboo recipes. I was just thinking about when we're going to get cherry blossoms today! I'm looking forward to them too. 🙂
So I finally had Gullivarrr was up on my shores on Wednesday! It was so exciting 😂🏴☠️
Some of the recipes using young spring bamboo have been pretty cute! But I'm really excited for cherry blossoms next month!!

Ahhhhh @WheresMySquishy thank you so much for starting this thread!! I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but my husband came home on Friday with Animal crossing and informs me he's built an island that we are sharing or something?? I have no idea what I'm doing with it but I think it will be a really great way to de-stress so I will be following this thread closely!
We also have Ring Fit for the Switch which is heaps of fun, and a surprisingly good workout lol. Confused the hell out of my cats too 😉 The battles are actually really satisfying!!
@Andrea-RO I love you and your housemate's islanders! We keep getting stung by wasps trying to get resources too.
@Janine-RO That's so exciting! You'll quickly get the hang of it. It's such a relaxing and chill game!
I'm really loving the frequency of events in this particular Animal Crossing. There seems to be something new every day. If you're playing with other people, they can each do Gulliver's task when they are the leader (I've found that it doesn't work properly if you aren't the leader, which was a bit annoying). Wisp disappears after his task is complete, but he's appeared multiple times in the same night for us, so we've both been able to do it. You can also hold a ceremony for each player when something new is opened so the other players don't have to miss out if they're not there at the time.
Today was a big day for us since our museum opened and another villager moved in! We finished all the housing works yesterday by working together to complete the recipes. I didn't realise this at the time, but the second player can buy the necessary recipes from the shop and complete them. I felt really silly having to constantly switch who the leader was because my sister had the recipes while I had the materials. D'oh!
Ahhh I was waiting to see if you'd create this thread @WheresMySquishy, or if I'd have to make it. Can't believe it's been up since Monday, oops!
I love Animal Crossing so much! I was worried for a bit since my Switch arrived a few days late (I preordered the AC switch!), but I got it on Monday and I love it! I almost don't want to progress sometimes while playing because I just love taking things slow for a little bit.
My icon here has been Celeste for a while, but I think Flick is probably my new favourite special character, haha. I haven't even met him yet, but he's so cool! I also love the new villager cat, Raymond! Who's everyone's favourite villagers? I have had a soft spot for Eugene since he moved next door to my New Leaf house years ago, haha. On my island I started with Cherry and Sterling, and I'm pretty happy about that! 
I love how it's connecting people during this turbulent time! I've seen so many people playing that have -- even people you'd probably least expect, like my brother's tradie friends haha. It's just so nice to chill out! This tweet is very relevant:

Our villagers at the moment are Jitters, Fuchsia (who we started with), Pinky, Marcie and Prince. It's crazy how we have three pink villagers!
I love Prince. He's such a sweetheart. He mails me presents, gives me gifts and compliments me on my clothing. Fuchsia gave me a lot of random gifts too.
I've often disliked certain villagers in other Animal Crossing games (*cough cough* Mathilda why did you keep deciding that my roof needed repainting?) but I haven't had any beef with the New Horizons villagers. Today, we unlocked an option to try to force villagers to move out, which was interesting but I'd feel bad using it.
Celeste visited our town a few nights ago when there was a meteor shower! She gave us a recipe, but we haven't made it yet. So keep an eye out for her! 🙂
I think Wisp is so cute. It's awesome that he's back because I didn't get to see him a lot in the GameCube version. He's visited us a few times.

A tip for the Cast Master Nook Miles: I found it was much easier to achieve it in a quiet room, holding the controller up to my ear in docked mode and without looking at the screen, just listening out for the sounds. I was up to the 74th fish when my mum distracted me and I missed it. 😞 I was so annoyed!

So excited to have New Horizons out now! The new Easter event is very cute but also annoying in some ways. I JUST WANT TO CATCH SOME FISH. STOP GIVING ME ALL THESE WATER EGGS 😛

@lokifish congrats, that is huge!! I've been trying to get 5 stars for forever. I managed to get the lily of the valley (happiest day during iso honestly) but still working toward 5 stars.
@WheresMySquishy I do the exact same thing when fishing. So much easier to listen instead of watch. I find I almost always misclick in anticipation of catching them when I watch it.
@Janine-RO I normally sell my turnips as soon as they hit a price above what I paid for them. I could hold out for longer in the hopes of a higher price, but I'm too risk-averse for that 😛
@lokifish our island is only at 3 stars at the moment so we have lots of work to do 😉
I had never got any turnips at all, but this week I decided to go for it and got heaps, I paid 99 bells and I think they're now only around 74. It's not looking good for me! I think I'm naturally too risk-averse for the turnip game 😉
@Janine-RO I've found that the turnip prices vary several times a day, so it could be worthwhile trying at different times. I hope you can make a profit! I think the last time I tried it, I bought them at 102 bells and sold them for 120 bells. But my sister sold them earlier in the day and made less money.
I've heard that if you let the turnips rot, you can catch ants.

@WheresMySquishy I made a huge loss lol, it was one of the only weeks where they went down in price massively. Ah well! I did build my villagers a cute amusement park thingo with a ride and some fairy floss, and we built a little playground too. We are a 4 star island now so that's something I guess!!
I was just trying to find when I last transferred photos from my phone to my computer and ended up finding pics of our Animal Crossing: New Leaf town that were taken in 2013. They were of my sister and I's birthday celebrations in the game. Fauna and Tutu celebrated with us. My sister's birthday wish was 'I wish to be a princess!!!!!!!!' and my birthday wish was that I wanted to marry a certain fictional character in real life.
Funny that shortly after this birthday, I remember that he dumped my character. He came crawling back as I knew he would but the breakup made me realise that I had outgrown him. I moved on to dating other fictional characters after that.

My sister hasn't been playing the game because her CRPS has flared up in her hand. On the plus side, Antonio gave me a pitfall seed recipe a few days ago. I was so happy!
@Janine-RO Oh no! I'm sorry you made a loss. 😞 I hope you at least got ants out of it. The amusement park idea sounds cool!
Aw, that is so cute @WheresMySquishy !!! I'm sorry to hear that your sister's CRPS is flaring up, does she find that changes in weather affect it at all? I had CRPS in my hand after a crush injury over 10 years ago now, I was lucky enough to make a full recovery, but it was pretty awful. Cold weather often seemed to trigger a flare up for me. I hope she's feeling a bit better today.
@Janine-RO I'm sorry you had CRPS too! It's so awful and painful. 😞
I'm not really sure what triggered the flare up. All of a sudden she was saying that her hand hurt and then she couldn't move it. I think it gets worse when she does work.
I think the cold weather is definitely a factor, especially if a breeze gets on her. She can't stand anyone blowing air near her. I've heard that avoiding triggers completely can sensitise people with chronic pain in the long run though.
Luckily, I've been able to get the prizes from the museum stamp rally multiple times so I'll give some to her if she ends up not being able to do the event.
