Self Care

There is often times where we need to take time out and look after ourself. Sometimes it can be hard to know what to do to look after ourself, we can be stuck for ideas on how we can be nice to ourself.

Many times I've found when I've been told to do something nice for myself I sit there and think "what am I supposed to do?". It's different for everyone and I'm wondering what other people do.

What is one nice thing that you have done for yourself today?

(If you're unsure take a look at what other people have said and try and do somehting similar for yourself)

I'll start, I lit my lavender candle put some calming music on and played mahjong before doing some study

Today, while no one was in the house, I let loose and danced all around the house!

Today I talked to my friends, did some online therapy with Moodgym, joined Reachout and tried to have a calm, relaxing day.

I totally agree with this. When my room/desk/house is clean, my brain feels a little clearer. I wish I understood how that worked psychologically but it totally works!

Today I took time out of my busy schedule for myself, caught up with a friend and went out for lunch and a movie.

@Bee I'm glad your water intake is better, I definitely need to work on that and acupuncture sounds so awesome 🙂 Have a great week

@florenceforever I haven't had a hot bath in a while, I think I should put that on my to do list this week. Glad you had a good start to the day 🙂

This week I am having some social time with my friends and getting out of my routine. Cant wait 🙂

@ruenhonx Yes, my water intake was very sufficient in the heat, though a slight drop in temperature has meant it's gone down... but at least the positive is that I don't feel extremely thirsty anymore 😛 But I'm going to remember to fill my water bottle up tomorrow and take it with me 🙂
And I wish to inform you that I think you got me mixed up with @nikko who said THEY were going for acupuncture. Me and needles, not a good mix 😛 haha

Today I stopped myself from a body bashing session and laughed at the idea of the pj's in a ball fitting me 😛

Today I had a nice long relaxing bath, instead of jumping in and out of the shower. It was just the start to the day that I needed

Today I've done a lot of self care

Did some house cleaning, did some yoga and went to dinner with a friend and now I'm watching my mindless shows - I need a giggle tonight before sleeping early tonight. 🙂

How is everyone else doing with their self-care?

This thread hasn't had love in a while...

I've been looking after myself by making sure my daily water intake is sufficient, I think at least 4 full water bottles is enough yes! 😄

Tonight I've been taking time out to just relax 🙂

@Bee

Nice Smiley Happy I've been quite vigilant with my water intake over the past year or so.

After going so long without even thinking about drinking a glass of water - let alone a few bottles - during the day, now I find myself needing to or my skin and mouth seem to get all dry!

My self-care this week is putting aside some time for meditation, working on my social anxiety course and having an acupuncture session on Tuesday.

I have really been having a hard time with my self care lately.. Even when I want to relax, my mind cant and I start feeling guilty because I feel like I'm waisting time. Do you guys ever feel this way? What do you do to get past this feeling?

Today and yesterday I accepted reality and did what was best for me at the time.

Then later on today I did what I know is going to be best for me for the near future too, rather than just what felt easiest.

Now I'm going to think of some ways I can make these holidays relaxing for myself 🙂

I have been pretty horrible with my self care at the moment. I feel stressed constantly with the end of uni approaching. I wrote down everything I am currently involved in and have worked out where I need to invest my time most over the next four weeks. Therefore I have had to pull back from some of my responsibilities and am focusing on my uni till the end of october.

Although i feel busy and stressed still it feels like some of the weight has lifted.

Yesterday I took the afternoon as an opportunity to have some time out, and snuggled up on the couch with a good book for a few hours. 🙂 (I find that reading is one of the only things that can distract me completely from all of the stressful stuff in life)

I haven't been going too brilliantly on the self-care front lately, but I have this to add.
I've been getting back into writing again. So I'm not bottling it all up inside my poor mind. AND I've found time recently to do some painting! Sure it's only on A5 in a notebook, but it still counts! 😄 )& they look amazing if I don't say so myself:P)

Finally, I can participate on what of these forums. Took me a long time to actually figure it out. (I am so not techy). Anyways. I have been doing some 'rebounding' lately. Not an easy tasks but it helped me lose some weight and maintain balance and it keeps away the stress from work.
