Self Care

There is often times where we need to take time out and look after ourself. Sometimes it can be hard to know what to do to look after ourself, we can be stuck for ideas on how we can be nice to ourself.

Many times I've found when I've been told to do something nice for myself I sit there and think "what am I supposed to do?". It's different for everyone and I'm wondering what other people do.

 

What is one nice thing that you have done for yourself today?

(If you're unsure take a look at what other people have said and try and do somehting similar for yourself)

 

I'll start, I lit my lavender candle put some calming music on and played mahjong before doing some study

I did 50min cardio DVD and I feel amazing but sleepy so I know tonight I'm gna have the best sleep

I've been taking care of myself mentally by not pushing myself when I don't have the motivation or desire to complete the work.

I've been thinking about more positive things and engaging in positive thinking than negative thinking 🙂 It's Wednesday B and I don't have the blergh Negative feeling I'm use to 🙂

Today I took a 45 minute break from study in the afternoon to give myself a chance to relax and have a completely different focus for a bit. Cooked, listened to music, read, talked... it was awesome and a great chance to chill.

Today I treated myself to all the lollies I had left from camp. I also spent the night watching funny videos (courtesy of Sophie). Very relaxing 🙂

Loving the self-care guys! Well done

I've finally got something to add to this thread 😄 woo

I've been keeping up my water intake, on average drinking at least 750ml of water each day, plus more. Lets say I'm well hydrated which is good 🙂

I've been taking time out at random intervals to do a bit of stretching and yoga poses. SO I haven't been doing a full yoga sesh, though a few poses here and there through-out the day is better than none. I've noticed that when I stretch, I feel better. After stretching my mucles feel better and aren't as tight, I feel more relaxed too. WIth these random stretches I've began to see how flexible I am! WHich for me is a big improvement, because I haven't been flexible in a long time. I'm becoming more comfortbale in my own body at points too! To give you an idea if I bend backwards if I'm holding onto something I can touch the ground with my oposing hand!
WIth all this stretching my back is looser and more comfortable, and I'm less streesed! I think that might be the reason for my (mostly) calmness recently 😄

I've been hanging out with a variety of people and not the same people every lunch time. I've been trying to balance out who I talk to. Helps me feel better about myself 😄 And I'm not caring what it looks like if I'm seen talking to this person or that. It's none of the others' business 🙂

Just got back from a 30 minute walk around the estate I live in. I've finally woken up to the fact that exercise does wonders for helping to manage anxiety & depression. 😄

Woot for exercise! I went for a walk to the shops earlier and it was nice to just have some time to think and get some fresh air.

Sagira; how'd your yoga go? I did a bit last year and found it refreshing, need to get back into it!

Shadow; Amazing how one favourite thing can make us feel good hey?

Lex, Fresh ari is amazing, and walks are good 🙂

Today I walked to school and back twice, a short walk but it was great to get into the fresh air and walk through the small park 🙂
When I changed out of my school uniform I put my white shawl jacket thing on, it's croched and has short sleves 🙂

It varies for me. But today I posted in the Three Positives of Today thread because I needed to find some positives and I'm listening to some music to help me relax.

Thanks 🙂 I got the idea from the old school counsellor and her one famous question "what nice thing are you going to do for yourself tonight?"

I'm going to go to yoga, my body needs it.  I've been feeling really restless today because I can't focus and it's starting to drive me insane!
