Hi @Dyl, it must be difficult for you to find a good time to talk to your mum about this if you and her have been arguing. How are you feeling?

Can I ask whether the arguments are related to seeing your dad? If not, it might be a good idea to let everything cool down before you tackle a bigger issue. So that the emotions that are brought up during arguments aren't carried through to when you start talking about this.

I can see you've been thinking a lot about how to start the conversation with your mum, this article has some pretty good tips too, see if they help you at all!

@missyj
I feel lost and alone
I'm having trouble with some rude kids at school and things like that also
My friends have been really helpful
My best mate who is like a brother and his Mum have been helping me out also
But I still feel lost and alone at times
I work hard and things and fail
It feels really depressing

@Dyl Sorry to hear that things haven't been going too well at school.  You sound like you have a great support network in place with your friends, best mate and his mum so definitely don't be afraid to talk to them and open up with them a bit more.

It's really easy to feel like you're alone when you're going through some trouble, but I find that when I talk to my closest friends and realise that they may have been through something similar before, it helps me to remember that if they can, then I (and you!) can get through it too!  Sometimes we try really hard at things and they don't always work out, but keep in mind that there's so much opportunity in the world for you to try again and never give up Smiley Happy

Hey @Dyl,

Sounds like you've got a lot going on at the moment. Is there anything that
you have done in the past that helps you manage your stress? When I'm
feeling stressed I like to call a friend or go for a walk. There are also
some great threads on the forums about self-care and stress management if
you'd like some more tips that work for other people. If you're needing
something to distract from the stress, you can also head over to the Games
threads, they're great for a little bit of stress relief too.

I am really sorry to hear you are feeling so stressed at the moment.  There are a lot of things going on for you.  However I am glad you reached out on this forum.  There are people on here who want to support you.  I just want to check in to see that you're safe?  Is there any strategy (e.g., play games, listening to music) to help relief some stress for you?

I am listening to a motivational speech of Lebron James as he is my idol to help calm myself down

Hi @Dyl
I'm really glad that the motivational speech was helping to calm you down.
That's a great way to do some self-care!

@Dyl, I'm sorry things are so hard for you atm. It seems like you have some great friends supporting you through this which is great.

Do you have any other family who you can confide in that might be able to help you approach the conversation with your mum?

I just feel like if I tell another member of my family they will tell my Mum and I don't want her to know as she is going through some stuff at the moment as well

Hey @Dyl ,
I'm sorry you've been having a tough time lately. How are you doing today? I second @Jay-RO's suggestions. I also love that you've shared some motivational speeches that help you to stay calm. It's so great you have someone who you look up to, and is your role model!
