1000001 COPING STRATEGIES & DISTRACTIONS
Hey! So @j95 and I came up with a cool idea to have the longest list of coping mechanisms EVER.
Use this list when you're feeling down as a way to get through the day or night!
Help us add to it by giving us ONE SUGGESTION PER POST 🙂
My first coping mechanism suggestion is:
- SNUGGLING YOUR DOGS FOR 5 MINUTES. (Cos dogs are the best)
Wearing a large cosy jumper - so large that you can tuck your knees and hands in
113. Read @j95's hilarious meme thread. Warning: you might wee your pants laughing, so maybe don't read it if you're in a library/church/class
114. Get off the bus a few stops early, have a bit of a walk, enjoy all the beautiful scenery 🙂
Your thread lol. So good.
117. Play with something squishy.
109.
Run up 3 or 4 flights of stairs as fast as you can.
I just did this because i was running late 😛
106.
Write a short story- it's okay if it's not very good. Practice makes perfect 🙂
107. Head to the fragrance counter at a department store or Lush / The Body Shop and smell some of the perfumes to see if they trigger some happy memories.
101. Deep breaths in and and count your breaths, up to ten, then start again from 1-10 and repeat. If you go past ten, it's because your mind has drifted, so try to stay present in your breathing!
Find a nice quiet cafe, find an awesome book, order something nice to drink and then read until they kick you out or the place closes, muahaha.
