Today I practiced self care by...

Hello people of RO Smiley Happy

I wanted to make a thread where we could all keep track of our self care and encourage each other to take care of ourselves.

Today I practiced self care by taking a break from my assignment for some fresh air. How did you practice self care today?

People are told to be resilient when something occurs so they can pay attention and focus on what they are doing. As neither of us could easily say we are fine under this situation right now. It is alright to distract yourself from daily news or anything which may make you anxious by singing a song or dance randomly.

Today I practiced self care by spending quality time with my family. Through connecting with them I feel enriched and refreshed.

Today I practiced self care by saying no to something that someone asked of me. I was feeling stressed and overwhelmed at the time and I knew I didn't have the emotional capacity to deal with the problem right then and there. Saying no sounds simple but can often be so difficult. Understanding your boundaries and looking after yourself is so important and easy to forget sometimes!

@rachelparkerIt is so true that saying no can be tough at times. Its awesome that you said no when you needed to even if it was hard because you needed to put yourself first

Hi @JanaG

Great thread idea!

For self-care on my work days, I like to turn my work phone off during my lunch break. I used to still accept work calls during my break, but I've decided to draw a line in the sand - lunch breaks are for lunch and lunch only! Definitely helps me clear my head & come back for the second half of the day feeling a bit less irritable & fatigued!

Hi all!
Today I practised self care by doing a mindfulness meditation through the calm app! It really helped me to get out of my head! 😌 I also did some colouring in my mindfulness colouring book while listening to some music, I feel so much better now!!

I love those colouring-in mindfulness books - a great way to unplug, relax and de-stress

I practiced self-care today by moving a commitment I realised I would probably be too tired to do. I  have moved it to a quieter day and am so relieved ! As @rachelparker mentioned above - boundaries are great self-care Heart

Great to hear that doing some self care made a difference @allgoodnamesweretaken. I love your username btw! Smiley Very Happy

Today for self care I bought some strawberries- they are amazing at the moment and will be my comfort food throughout the day! I am loving fresh fruit and yogurt with granola for brekky at the moment, really feel energised in the morning if I have a good brekky:)

Today I practised self-care by turning my phone off and taking a long walk without technology. I came back feeling very fresh with a clear head, and my stresses now seem a little easier to deal with 🙂

that sounds like such a good idea! I was thinking about trying to avoid social media in the mornings and evenings to help clear my head. Smiley Happy

Today I practised self-care by giving space to my feelings through general without judgement and reminding myself of my positive mantras.

Its okay to struggle. It okay to be exactly where you are and feel all the things you feel. You dont have to all the answers. Its okay to struggle. It okay to be exactly where you are and feel all the things you feel. You dont have to all the answers.

@Watermelon6  welcome to the forums! That sounds like excellent self-care, go you! What kind of things do you garden? What does a healthy breakfast look like for you?

@Tay100 Hi, thanks for the warm welcome. I prefer succulents because they thrive on neglect and sunshine but i've recently ventured into growing some ferns because lately I've been loving my succulents to death with too much care and water. A healthy breakfast for me is porridge with elderberries, chia seeds and banana. YUM! What's one of your favourite healthy breakfasts?

Welcome back!
