Today I practiced self care by...

Hello people of RO Smiley Happy

I wanted to make a thread where we could all keep track of our self care and encourage each other to take care of ourselves.

Today I practiced self care by taking a break from my assignment for some fresh air. How did you practice self care today?

@Watermelon6 awww yes succulents thrive on neglect, which I love. I have a cactus named Arrow- and their alive, for now, so that's something hahaha!

I have a very similar breakfast; muesli, coffee and fruit! I should add some more seeds to it too!

Today I practiced self care by cleaning up my room after a stressful period of assignments. I always feel more over-whelmed when my space is a bit messy, but sometimes when I am really busy I just don't have the time, and I let it get away from me. I feel so much better now that it is cleaned up. I feel like I can now carry on my day with something of a clean slate.

@Lottie  Yes, I 100% relate to this, I did the same thing once uni was over for me too! Hope the rest of your day goes well 🙂

Hi! I'm new here. Today I practiced self care by going on a walk in the park. I love the smell of nature after it has just rained 🙂

Hello everyone, I'm new here!

Today I practised self-care by having a checkup phone call with my psychologist! It was so good after my brain was totally wired up and anxious after online exams. I'm also making a cake because there's always something to celebrate Smiley Happy

Hello @StomySeas17! yay for having a check-up call! It's great to have a chat to help wind down after exams. A cake is a great way to celebrate 😄 😄

Today I practice self-care by remembering to have my tablet this morning.

Hi I'm new to the online community.

Today I practiced self care by walking to work. It was a great way to give myself some time to think and rest after many weeks of cramming for exams.

What a wonderful idea for a thread! I think it is so important to practise self-care. My go to strategies are:

1. Have dim lighting in my room and read a book

2. Spend time with my family

3. Clean my house

Although not the classic methods, I find these very therapeutic and allow me to switch off and de-stress.

Today I practiced self-care by getting up for an early morning walk and then having a coffee at home while I journaled.

@Wolfie_ Self care strategies don't always have to be the "typical" ones that you usually hear off. The special thing is that everyone is unique. And what will work for one person might not work for another. Well done for identifying these three activities as de-stressing and therapeutic

Hi there! I lit up one soy wax candle I got the other day at a bargain shop while I was doing my yoga. It was soooo nice and literally made my day.

Wow I just discovered this thread and I love it! Such an important but often overlooked party of day to day life.

Today I practiced self care my reading in bed for a while with my headphones on. I just needed to de-stress what with everything that's been happening and it really helps. Bonus if you can get a cup of tea while you're at it!

Today, I practiced self care by taking a day off from my academic work. I did graphic design projects (another passion of mine which I find to be very relaxing) and I even treated myself to a meal out! 🙂

Today I practised self-care by walking my dog in the morning, getting some fresh air, listening to my favourite podcast and taking some time for myself to write and be creative. Later tonight, to wind down, I'm going to cook a nice dinner for the family (cooking for me is very mindful), crack open a book or watch something that brings me comfort and joy (I recently watched the film Booksmart, which is now my favourite movie! So good!).

Today I practiced self-care by being patient with myself and giving myself an extra minute before I jumped into my todo list. It really helped calm myself down since I have a long list today!

Today I practiced self care by going for an afternoon walk. I was busy and stressed out with work, however I took the time to do something I enjoyed even for a short time.

So great to see how much love this thread is getting! Heart

Today I practiced self care by going for a walk and making an effort to get into the office for work today. I forgot how much I missed walking through the city in the morning and the general routine of getting out of the house to work!

I didn't get the best nights sleep so I took care of myself today by reading a book by the heater with a hot tea.

It was an easy romance novel and my feet kept getting burnt by the heater.

I felt cosy and calm by the late afternoon.

Worth it:)
