CATS! Cats Cats!
So if you're anything like me you loooove some furry kitty love!
And I realised tonight we don't have a cat thread, so now we do!
A place to share ALLL THINGS CAT! And talk about our furry loving cat friends!
I shall defeat you Kitty!
You're welcome ❤️
Anyone who knows me knows that I love cats, and that I have a daughter cat named Shakira who makes me very happy.
I bought her a new collar the other day...what do you guys think of the colour?
I know what you mean, with that smug lil' face of hers...
She makes lots of cute noises though. I can't describe them but this is as close as I'll get:
Brrp!! Mrrrrrp!!! Nyaaaaa!! Brrrrrrrp-purrrp!! Mewowowow!? Prrow-mew-rrrrp!! Mewwoowwlllll!! Buurr-up!!!
I just came across this GIF of a cat trying to investigate a turtle and thought of this thread 😂
You can just see it going: "Y U NO SAY HELLO?!" hahaha
One of my meows (the less bite-y one) just insisted that I crawl around on the floor with him so that he could give me head buts before he started eating.. I'm still not sure why...
Thanks for sharing @letitgo I would love to watch!
My little living room lion has been so naughty lately, just constantly biting and attacking you. You'll be having a nice pat that he asked for then hes got your whole finger in his mouth ripping your skin off, does anyone have any tips on managing kitty behaviour like this? I would appreciate it!
@letitgo I need to see that sometime! I even love the name of it.
And @lennycat2017 mine does that too sometimes... she's a horrible little cat but I love her, even when she decides that the way I'm breathing is reason enough to attack..
When she gets overwhelmed with any feeling (including happiness) she'll go into attack-mode...
I now know when I'm patting her to look for the signs that she needs some calm-down time, including very dilated pupils, putting her ears back slightly even though she's purring loudly, shoving her whiskers forwards, her claws going into the carpet and rolling around/ changing position often, and honestly also the general sense of insanity she occasionally creates...
Also keep a careful eye out for sudden neck/ paw movements, because sometimes that extra millisecond can be enough to save your finger from lion attacks...
If you miss those signs, I'd suggest extracting your finger from his mouth (or his claws from your arm if he's anything like my kitty...) with as little fuss as possible, moving away and then ignoring him until he's calmed down.
You could also try to redirect his chewing onto a large-ish kitty toy that he can attack as much as he wants.
Good luck with him!
[N] Apparently when I was very little, when we had four dogs and I was learning about animals, I’d point to them and say (keep in mind they all looked very similar), “Dog, Dog, Dog, Cat!”
That one dog was the only cat I’ve ever had.
hey everybody!
I have a cat and her name is Miss Pretty Kitty - we call her Pretty. She is a 3 year old long haired chinchilla, and she always seems to get into mischief around the house!
Introducing Alexis, my cat 🙂
She is in love with my beagle Toby, and goes walking around the block with him because she wants to protect him 🙂 She's always smooching and kissing Toby, and sometimes comes into my room to say goodnight to him!

@Hozzles hehe those gifs are pretty amazing! 😛
awww your cats are so adorable sitting in the washer together!
My cats have multiple names/nicknames toooo!!!!! 😄
Tybalt sounds like my kind of cat!!!! 😄 I love it when they are so affectionate!

Well this thread needs a revival. Get ready for my kitty!
She's so photogenic
When there's no space on my desk she'll sulk behind my laptop 😄
Or sulk around my mouse (and stop me from working :P)
Or crawl onto my lap 😄
Or she'll just sit on my work and stop me from doing anything.
Oh and here's a big kitty I met at the zoo! (also taking a nap)
And here's the other kitty taking a nap (she's such a princess)
Thanks for sharing @N1ghtW1ng - I love cats.
The top photo made me laugh. It has that confused cat-face look on. Like why are you all up in my face taking a photo of me? Too adorable.
[N] I'm still going insane over the fact our aunty claims not to be a cat lady, even though she has four of them. I'm going especially crazy trying to understand why her latest one is named Frog.
Apparently the cat is named after a character from Smoky and the Bandit.
Yess I missed this thread! (While we're here is there one for puppers/ other pets we could revive?) (Edit: Never mind I found the pupper thread!)
@N1ghtW1ng those pictures are adorable! I love how big cats are all secretly like house cats in disguise, haha. I love videos/ GIFs like these:
@SomeoneNADJS hahah, what a cute name! I have a special place in my heart for cats with particularly strange names.
Cats! Yay! All your cats are so pretty.
@beagle866 I love the colour of Alexis' eyes in that last pic! What a pretty girl!
@Bee those gifs are actually so cute I can't handle it. I love it when cats do the kneading thing.
Here are my cats (in absolute potato quality -- I swear I have better pictures but I like this one because it really captures the size difference):
Left is Ruby (also known as Kitten/Big Red. She responds to Kitten, her forms call her Ruby and Big Red is a recent nickname, haha). She mainly keeps to herself, but she can be affectionate when she wants to be (only on her terms, though!). She's an enormous cat and weighs almost as much as my mini poodle.
Right is my tiny boy Tybalt (named after the Prince of Cats in Romeo and Juliet ) and unlike his namesake he's a huge softie. Every single day he jumps up next to me in bed and wraps his paws across my shoulders and tries to get as close to me as possible. Like what cat actually snuggles with their humans! He's like my unofficial therapy animal. I love him to bits.
These are my 2 babies 🙂 Maddy is the calico who is super small despite being 11 years old and still gets confused as a kitten, she is the families cat but my sister has taken ownership of her. We adopted her when she was two from the local cat shelter and she is a bit of a ninja cat who likes to think she owns the house. She counts us all in at night and I have been judged at times by her for returning home at 10.30pm at night on a Saturday.
Paprika or Rikki as he more often called is the ginger cat who I adopted when he was 6 months old almost 4 years ago, he is the biggest sook with me but a scaredy cat for everyone else. I saw his photo online on the cat shelters website and I knew he was mine even before I met him. He is bonded to me which is really nice and will come when I call him (anyone else he ignores), he also seeks me out and waits for me to return home sometimes.
Yes the photo is him on the dining room table and he shouldn't be on it but he likes to break the rules a bit (he also likes to help me study which is why my tafe folders have teeth marks on them).
I find having cats helps with my anxiety and even on really tough days I know Rikki will be there wanting hugs and providing a much needed support. I know that some people say cats are anti social but I think they are loyal to the people they live with and use all their energy taking care of them so anyone else is a distraction.
