1000001 COPING STRATEGIES & DISTRACTIONS
Hey! So @j95 and I came up with a cool idea to have the longest list of coping mechanisms EVER.
Use this list when you're feeling down as a way to get through the day or night!
Help us add to it by giving us ONE SUGGESTION PER POST 🙂
My first coping mechanism suggestion is:
- SNUGGLING YOUR DOGS FOR 5 MINUTES. (Cos dogs are the best)
197. Put on a perfume/body spray that you really like the scent of
198. Distract yourself by charging all the electronics that you own
199. See how many pushups you can do in a minute (on your toes of course )
200. Do a 100 burpees or go the gym and see how many chin ups you can do
206. Colour in an online kitty - http://m.thecolor.com/category/coloring/Cats.aspx
207. Look up at the sky and try and count the stars (or if it's daytime, count the clouds)
@loves netball @DruidChild since you were both interested, I'd thought I'd tag you in. 🙂 I finished the list! 😄 It is in my terrible handwriting (I'm so sorry about that :P) so if you want me to type it up then that's okay. I organised it into sections. Here are the pics.
If they're too big, let me know. I thought the size might be helpful to make it easier to read. Also, the ones with coloured slashes on the dots are repeated (it's just with some art/hobbies I decided to move to food)
Thanks so much for sharing @N1ghtW1ng, that must have taken you aaages 🙂 It looks awesome (and completely readable don't worry!) What a great list.
208. Get some play dough and squish it
209. If you're out and things are super overwhelming, put headphones in and mouth the words to your favourite song.
210. Lie on the floor underneath the fan and watch the blades spin.
211. Have a competition with a friend to see who can find the weirdest GIF
Hey @Nat8 sounds really hard (I saw your post to @Mona-RO in the other thread) I wanted to encourage you to take a look over here. Or better yet do you think you could jump on a chat with one of the helplines? Kids Helpline chat [click here] can help you get your breath back a bit with a grounding exercise etc 🙂 Or there may be something in this thread that gets you back on track such as the above coping strategies.
