It feels like everyone is leaving me (Part 3!)

I had to make a new thread it was too confusing to find the most recent posts after the update :'( and my old thread was a bit of a mess. This is a thread continuing on from parts 1&2 😛 and usually includes me venting about uni, pain, attachment issues, heavy thoughts, and ocd thoughts. And sometimes issues around family or friends. And for some reason sometimes we talk about sloths. Essentially it's one of those threads that we aren't technically encouraged to make because they go on and on and on but I find them helpful because we get to see where we've come from

[Also... I'll generally put a TW if I say anything that's potentially triggering]

Responding to @Taylor-RO from my old thread

Yeah, it is frustrating but more just makes me hopeless 😞 Catching up on uni did not go well, I have an essay due next week that I haven't started 😞 Thanks for the positive vibes 😛

It sounds like your body and brain really needed the rest @Lost_Space_Explorer5! And I know I often feel very thrown and guilty when that happens to me, but I think it's important to listen to your body because it was clearly very much needed! I'd say with exam time too, your body just needed some time to chill cause it sounds like you've been going full steam ahead with playing catch up! Sorry, I'm not great for advice today. But yeah, it sounds like it was needed so try not to beat yourself up about it!

Also, roller skating is so goddam bad ass!! I wish I could roller skate!! I used to love doing it but could never quite work out how to stop hahaha I'd just try and find some grass to safely crash on or bring my wheels to a halt.. 😂 Do you like play roller derby or anything? Like when you say you roller skate what exactly does that involve? Also.. ice skating is so cool too!! Another thing I really enjoy doing but am also scared of 😂

If you're around tonight, I'm keen to play some games if you want. Could do with the distraction! Only if you're up for it though. Same with you @Eden1717 if you'd like to join! Idk just feel like I need something to do. Tried uni but that's not working and I can't even log into the thing I need 🤦‍♀️

I've replied to some games threads! @MB95 Haha it's really frustrating when you can't get some uni thing to work, it feels like a sign that you shouldn't study 😆

Hi @lost_Space_Explorer5,

Oh jeez, I’ve done that before, it can be very disorientating to sleep past your alarms or normal wake up time. I always feel so discombobulated!

Maybe your body/mind really needed the rest, and this was it's way of letting you know.

Hopefully it hasn’t impacted your plans too much and you can reschedule things.

I wanted to check in and see how you're doing today? It sounded like last night was pretty rough for you, I hope you were able to get some sleep and are having a better day today 💜

Hey @lost_Space_Explorer5 !

I hope you've been doing better. Hopefully you have a bit more time between now and your next assignment! I know that feeling (a bit too well) when you're rushing to get an assignment done by the deadline. I find that remembering to take it one day at a time really helps cos it helps me focus on the present. I hope you're also taking min. 5 minute breaks. Recently, I stressed so much for a final exam that I had trouble breathing 😅, so please know that you're not alone.

I wish you the best of luck for the rest of your assignments and exams!

Hey @Lost_Space_Explorer5

Sorry to hear that tonight has been really tough for you. Sometimes we need to cry and express our emotions to feel a little more free from them. I wonder if there is another way you can express your emotions if you are finding it hard to cry? like drawing or journalling perhaps? 💛

What is the main thing making it hard for you to do the essay tonight?

I hope you are okay, please let us know how you are going. Essays can be so frustrating!!

TW I'm on webchat with lifeline atm 😞 Everyone's given up on me. Usually when I give up people think things will get better but that's not happening because there's nothing anyone can do 😞

Thanks @AngelJoy and that's okay ❤️ I'm sorry you struggle with talking to people- I can relate. It sounds like anxiety could be causing the hearing difficulties, if nothing is wrong with your physical hearing? Or it could be something else? It could be worth seeing a GP?

I wish I could see a GP. 😞 I'm just afraid to tell my parents. So, I'm waiting for something...bad to happen that'll give me a reason to see one. Otherwise the might say, why are you depressed? Your life is perfect. So, that's why I'm waiting.

@AngelJoy are you comfortable going on webchats to discuss things with a counsellor through helplines like Kids Helpline? It's understandable that you would not want to speak over the phone if you have trouble understanding what people are saying. This also might be a stretch, but have you ever spoken to a doctor about the possibility that your trouble with understanding/hearing people might be a neurological matter? It's possible that the issue actually isn't with your ears themselves. Seeing a GP on your own like @Lost_Space_Explorer5  said might be the way to go. I believe anyone 16 years and over can apply for their own Medicare card and attend their GP's office alone. I'm wondering if you would comfortable speaking with a school counsellor and having them support you in having a conversation with your parents about your depression. Your school could call an SSG, discuss your progress at school and also discuss supports. Would you consider this as an option?

@Lost_Space_Explorer5 it's great that you have found a distraction for tonight. Essays were never my favourite thing to do. I hope you're having a great homework session, if there is any such thing.

My mum probably won't let me have a Medicare card, because she thinks I don't need it i think. I don't go to school. :< I homeschool. I'm not so comfortable doing most things, especially alone.

Aww @AngelJoy it must be so hard for you wanting to go the GP but being restricted. Is there anything you think would help to try to approach the conversation with your mum again? I know you've tried before and it must be stressful.

Know that we will all be here to support you if you decide to try and bring it up again 🙂

Are you too young to see a GP alone? How old do you have to be to see a GP alone, I forget 😕?

No, I'm old enough. My parents probably just won't let me see a GP i think. They always want to know what I'm doing.

Hello @Lost_Space_Explorer5! I'm sorry that you are feeling this way right now. I feel that way too, except I can't talk to anyone really. But I'm glad you're trying to get help. Things will get better, you just have to believe. I believe in you, and I will never give up on you. You're a fighter, and I know that you can make it.  💜

Thinking of you.
