So recently we had our community art chalenges,which were awesome! (even though I only did 2 of them) I loved seeing everyone's art and it inspired me to do a couple. In our last thread a few users were talking about having an art thread, I thought I'd take the initiative and make it tonight, as Ive been feeling rather arty tonight! haha.

Without further ado, show us what You've been working on we'd love to see it.
I'm going to start off and post tonight's work. I was feeling frustrated, and for once felt like expressing it creatively. I just did a simple tree to get me back into painting as I haven't painted for years! Here's the result 🙂

They work pretty much just like you said. You use a special type of roller to create an even coat of ink over the etching. Sometimes paint will get into the cut out bits, but its all dependant on how much ink you use and how hard you press it down to the paper. A lot of the process involves finding the perfect amount of ink and pressure.
You then use a machine much like this one to physically press the etching down onto the paper.
The end results are pretty cool, and theres a lot of decision work that goes into what type of lino, how hard to press and exactly which parts to cut out. It's definitely an enjoyable thing to do.

Erm, here is the only thing I've painted in a long time. I bought a scrubby old filing cabinet and over the past few days I've been painting it white and a glittery bronze colour. My spray painting skills are not the greatest, but I'm happy with the result. DIY homewares projects are my jam 🙂

maybe I will upload some pics of the scarves I've been knitting (once they're finished)
