Creativity / Community Art

So recently we had our community art chalenges, which were awesome! (even though I only did 2 of them) I loved seeing everyone's art and it inspired me to do a couple. In our last thread a few users were talking about having an art thread, I thought I'd take the initiative and make it tonight, as Ive been  feeling rather arty tonight! haha.

Links to our community challenges #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7

Without further ado, show us what You've been working on we'd love to see it.

I'm going to start off and post tonight's work. I was feeling frustrated, and for once felt like expressing it creatively. I just did a simple tree to get me back into painting as I haven't painted for years! Here's the result 🙂

This is an awesome thread, I love seeing everyone's art and how creative everyone is!!

I'd like to share mine here as well, the lighting is a bit bad though ^^;;

I like to draw with all kinds of different materials, but this is the first time that I've done watercolour... I'm not that great at watercolour yet, so if there's anyone with some advice on watercolour painting I'd love to hear from you ^^

@Nessa17 that is so pretty! It looks really cool. Some things with watercolours that I learned is that sometimes you can put the water on first, then add in the colour so the colour spreads around and you have a dark spot where the colour was first put and then lighter areas. Also, if you put salt on in just the right moment, it makes it look really pretty.
Another this is that you use the colour and then you clean the brush and stroke down from the colour with just water so the colour goes down the water but fades. It's like the first except the colour goes first so you have more control over the way the colour goes.

I hope that made some sense. I learned a bit about watercolours last year 🙂

@DruidChild Thank you very much! ^^

@N1ghtW1ng Thanks for your tips! I hadn't thought of putting the water on the paper first and then adding in the colour, so I'll definitely give that a try next time Smiley Happy

@winston_abdi linels are pretty cool, although not everywhere uses the machine. In Switzerland, we actually used a stamp thing and ran it all around the paper to press instead of the machine doing it for us. Pretty fun 🙂

Everyone has done such cool art 🙂

This is what I made today because I was not feeling great (pretty sure it doesn't violate guidelines? I'll delete it if it does though!)

I'd like to share this Lino Printing I made early last year. I unintelligently forgot to take a photo of the actual print but here's the etching I made. It's probably the piece of artwork that I am most proud of making.
I hope you guys like!thumb_IMG_7326_1024.jpg

Very cool @winston_abdi! How do lino prints work? Do you just paint over the etching and press it on paper? How do you stop the paint from going in the cut-out bits?

Welcome back!
