1000001 COPING STRATEGIES & DISTRACTIONS
Hey! So @j95 and I came up with a cool idea to have the longest list of coping mechanisms EVER.
Use this list when you're feeling down as a way to get through the day or night!
Help us add to it by giving us ONE SUGGESTION PER POST 🙂
My first coping mechanism suggestion is:
- SNUGGLING YOUR DOGS FOR 5 MINUTES. (Cos dogs are the best)
For sure there's a vast range of helplines and organisations though, they certainly aren't all the same. It's important to remember too RO is not a counselling/crisis support service we can give you a bit of peer support however 🙂 This thread is a wealth of knowledge I hope it helps @Nat8
183. Play with some play dough (you can make this at home), kinetic sand or bubbles.
Good thread revival!
177. Watch Parks and Recreation and get inspired by Leslie Knope's posi attitude!
179. Annoy the crap out of a sibling. My eldest sister has been getting this a lot. 😄
( @stonepixie this is hands-down my favourite strategy. My sister obviously always enjoys me booty-dancing between her and the television or repeating everything she says in song form, though. Who wouldn't? )
174. Rewatch your favourite TV shows/movies and try to spot details you've never noticed before
Its like making something beautiful from not-so beautiful experience. 😄😊☺
170. Youtube (specifically cat videos)
171. Sit under a tree on the grass and watch the clouds

165. Set up a comfortable cushy area, get some good food, drinks, whatever, a couple of your favourite books, maybe some music if you like that and read to your hearts content.
