1000001 COPING STRATEGIES & DISTRACTIONS

Hey! So @j95 and I came up with a cool idea to have the longest list of coping mechanisms EVER.

Use this list when you're feeling down as a way to get through the day or night!

Help us add to it by giving us ONE SUGGESTION PER POST 🙂

My first coping mechanism suggestion is:

  • SNUGGLING YOUR DOGS FOR 5 MINUTES. (Cos dogs are the best)

@Bree-RO thanks but I've had bad experiences with chatlines and even other professionals, they're quick to blame on insignificant things and just don't help me handle it. the last time i tried i ended up hospitalised anyway and it was useless. I think I'll steer clear. I'll look here though

For sure there's a vast range of helplines and organisations though, they certainly aren't all the same. It's important to remember too RO is not a counselling/crisis support service we can give you a bit of peer support however 🙂 This thread is a wealth of knowledge I hope it helps @Nat8 Heart

( @stonepixie this is hands-down my favourite strategy. My sister obviously always enjoys me booty-dancing between her and the television or repeating everything she says in song form, though. Who wouldn't? Smiley Very Happy )

Only 1 @Lahna? I feel like two is nice. Then you can have two different insides like one with, one without butter or nutella or jam or whatever. 😛

I draw on my self. Idk why but it seems to work yano. It can be anything, or anywhere, and in any colour. Although personally i use red, and draw on my leg.
Its like making something beautiful from not-so beautiful experience. 😄😊☺
