I have a variety of hobbies. I hike with my dog every chance I get. I spend time with games, especially bow archery. I am a national player as well.  That is attractive to me not only because I am a sports person out there but also because I love to play. what are yours?

Honestly my favourite thing is to just go on YouTube and search yoga videos and sometimes depending on how my body is feeling I'll search up a specific one e.g. if I've been sitting at a desk all day and need some muscle relief but I think I would suggest starting with a beginner video on YouTube (if that's how you're doing it) and maybe put in a time as well e.g. beginner yoga + 10 minutes or something like that. Let me know how you go Smiley Very Happy

@celestialdreamer It's great that you've been finding ways to stay active, especially when our bodies really need it or we haven't been able to move all day Smiley Happy

I've been trying to learn more about embroidery lately and that's been exciting! Someone recommended this website to me that has free online courses on things like sewing, jewelry marking and I'm excited to learn more when I have time

@TOM-RO thank you! I recently just participated in the step-up to breast cancer where you have to walk 10000 steps every day for the month of august and it really highlighted to me how important it is to exercise to reduce the risk of health issues in the future and the significant impact it has on focus and overall mood! Also that's really cool that you're getting into embroidery I love sewing it's such a cool life skill to have and something I definitely want to work on so I will definitely be bookmarking your website!

I have hobbies watching movie, listening to songs and gardening. I love gardening because it is the only thing that keep me close to nature. Whenever I get depressed or stressed our get free time I mostly spent my time in my garden cutting the extra edges grass with my PowerSmart  Mulching Lawn Mower to make my garden nice and beautiful, plant new flowers. I've grown vegetables in my garden like tomatoes and potatoes and homegrown vegetables taste different and fresh.

@emery45 I love that you are super into gardening! I can't say I'm someone with green fingers but I do love watching my mum garden and she always sends me photos of the daily growth of her veges which is super cute. I do agree that homegrown veges taste delicious!

My hobbies are working out, baking and creating recipes, and listening to podcasts. I also started making jewellery a few days ago, which has been super fun and is such a good way for me to be creative Smiley Happy

yoga is sooo good!! i'm glad u asked 🙂 my recommendation is yogini melbourne for some quiet, more introspective videos (she has 5-30 min videos that target different things). yoga with adrienna is good if u like some chatter/positive energy throughout the video (she also has a cute dog)

mine are probably

- creative writing

- gardening (in my tiny stretch of dirt in the courtyard)

- lately I’ve been painting doors on trees along the footpath for kids to find when they’re out walking. Break up a bit of monotony during their quarantine boredom.

@cicadas There's a great thread about journaling here if you want to check it out. It has lots of good ideas! I don't have lots of patience either, normally I'll just screenshot any good idea I come across then copy it down Smiley Tongue. I'm not the most original person if you ask me haha

Hey @wanderingwasp - great idea ! @sunnygirl606 writing poetry would be such a great hobby and so therapeutic! Definitely something I want to one day appreciate and try and develop my skills in

@Guitarman97 im also a big fan of self-help / psychology books. My ALL TIME favourite is the skeleton cupboard by Tanya Byron - please do yourself a favour and have a read, I couldn't put it down.

I think my favourite hobbies at the moment would be:
1. Painting - I have just launched my own art business and just loving it
2. Reading - I love a good psychology book. As mentioned Tanya Byron is a must and I bloody love Irvan Yalom
3. Walks - although I havent been doing it that much this week I do love a good walk
4. Just some classic mindless television
5. cross-stitch! such an underrated activity - I havent done this in a while mostly because all were sold out at spotlight but dying to get my hands on one fun one

Amazing book recommendation. Just googled it and the summary sounds interesting so I've added it to my list!

Is it ok if i ask more about your journey with ur art business? I've recently gotten into drawing with charcoal etc. and i was wondering how realistic it would be to make a profit on charcoal drawings online such as etsy? Also, what type of art do you do and how did you grow that passion?

Thanks!!

@wanderingwasp - sorry for the late reply! Oh I hope you enjoy it when you finally get to read it!

Yeah of course - I definitely think you can make a profit! particularly with prints, you make the charcoal painting once and then just print it as you need. Its so time efficient and cost effective. I personally do skateboard art, I paint on a skateboard deck as my canvas thats meant to be hung as decor/art. Etsy is such a good platform because it gives you an audience which is so beneficial but I personally made my own website through square space which was free. Feel free to blast me with questions! Im not sure what else you'd want to know haha

Awesome thread idea @wanderingwasp I also love reading and yoga! My other favourite hobbies are teaching myself songs on the violin, journalling and sport (mostly aerobics, going for walks, dancing). The 2 things I really want to get into are boxing and learning a new language. I've kinda always wanted to have a book club too Smiley Happy

@wanderingwasp what film genres are you interested in?

Everyone's hobbies sound super fun and it sounds like we all love reading! What's everyone's favourite book? @wanderingwasp @scared01 @WheresMySquishy @Guitarman97
